Hi guys,
I've started tweaking some midi files using the GM sound bank PCG, saved them to a Trinity formatted floppy as SONG DATA only (not as midi files) ad then wanted to dump them to my laptop for long term storage as floppies always seem to run forever until the time you really need it to work.
So I attached a USB floppy I have to my laptop, but when I try to copy the song file to the PC, it returns a message of 'Disk not completely formatted'.
How is the Korg format different?
I achieved a workaround by dumping one of the Song banks that I had downloaded from the internet to the same floppy disk. It transfered from the PC to floppy fine. It also then allowed me to copy the file I had originally wanted to copy to my laptop?
Anybody know if this is standard procedure for using floppies, the Trinity and a PC?
Cheers
Al

Hi, I do know that a floppy disk formatted by PC may not properly work when exchanging data with the Trinity.
If you need to format a floppy disk for Trinity files, use the Trinity Disk Utility to format the disk instead, not the PC.
The PC will still be able to read and write to the Trinity-formatted floppy disk as normal.

Better yet.
I would buy a MIDI to USB adaptor and hook up your Trinity to your laptop via midi. Then transfer your songs to your PC via Midi using Trinitro.
It works really nice and you can also save your song along with the correct pcg that it was made with.
Hope this helps.
Oh, Timo,
I remember you posted a tip on what to do if you get the dreaded timed out message when requesting or sending a SONG from or to the Trinity.. Can you remind us of this. I searched the forum but can't locate that info anywhere. Thanks in advance.
