nanoPAD and Reason 4.0 issue

Post by onizuka8 »

hello all I am a new member to the korg forums and a beginner and enthusiast of their products.

I recently bought the korg nanoPAD after playing and learning with the nanoKEY i bought several months ago.

i found the nanoKEY very easy to set up with reason and it works very well. However, i am having problems with the nanoPAD and the Korg Kontrol Editor.

Basically i would like to know how to set up the nanoPAD with the Reason 4 Redrum.

REMEMBER i am a complete noob with this software and hardware.
I have tried going into the Kontrol Editor and changing each pad to the note on the of the keyboard that triggers the channel sample of the Redrum. (C2, C#2 and so on) But this didnt work... I dont know how to, say... SEND the new data to Reason.
Also, right clicking Redrum theres a tab saying "Lock nanoPAD to Redrum"... still nothing.

sorry for typing an essay of help.. but seriously.. i know the bare minimum on this!

Your help is very much appreciated!!

i don't mean to be rude but i seriously need help... i can't even use this thing at the moment, it's just sitting there gathering dust and burning a considerable hole in my wallet.

Korg's support line cant even help me cos Reason 4's a third party software.

That's correct - we cannot provide support for a product that we don't make and are not trained on!! I wish we could extensively know every third party product out there, but we've got more than a few of our own products we have to know pretty well already. ;-)

Now that being said, we'll see what we can do to help out here with the nanoPAD..When configuring your nanoPAD with different settings, you aren't going to transfer your settings over to Reason but rather over to your physical nanoPAD. After you make your settings in the Kontrol Editor, click "Communication" and choose either "Write Scene Set" (all 4 scenes) or "Write Scene Data" (current scene being edited). This should then transmit all of your changes over to the nanoPAD.

Let us know if that takes care of things. If you need further help, please keep in mind that this is not a website run by Korg so the fastest way to reach us is through the contact information provided in the link in our signature below.

Thanks for supporting Korg!!
