saving samples/sample pads

Post by benfiltraitor »

is there a way to keep loaded samples saved in the M3 so i dont have to re-load them everytime i turn it on?

and also, once i have a sample saved to a program, put into a combi, and assigned to one of the 8 sample pad, is there a way to only hit the pad once so the sample plays all the way through?

cheers guys

In the triton series there was a checkbox in program edit 'Basic' page called 'Hold'. This effectively made the program ignore Note-Off messages.

There should be something similar on the M3.

You would do that for your program that uses the sample, not in the combi.

If you're planning on playing back a whole song or large chunks of one though, keep in mind playing too many notes and maxing-out the polyphony will kill your sample playing in the background.

Nope, they are loaded into volatile RAM, which is not battery-backed when you turn the unit off. with no power, everything gets erased. maybe in a later workstation they will load into Flash-ROM or something like that. but until then, we're stuck.

Yup, and this is the case with all sampling workstations....

I hope it doesn't get the Flash-ROM, because those are expensive and will be very small. I prefer getting options to autoload samples at startup, and increasing the RAM to at least 1GB.

The load speeds are much much faster than before. So, the loading times are of decreasing concerns for me.
