Hi again,
I found some posts on here about making your own combis so that you can use them live without glinch. When I pull up programs (A 000 on my combi is acoustic piano- A 015 is a beautiful string) When I go to program them A000 is a Stab and A001 is a different the acoustic? Why arnt they the same.... I have programs I love but when I go to pull them up to create my own combi they are totally differant....
thanks for any and all help,
Joeypm

Is it possible that you're getting A001 and A000 mixed up?
For example, on most KORG workstations I've used A000 is always some kinda showoff or basic synth sound like a stab or motion. I seem to remember A000 on the TR was a portamento pad thingy. A001 is the piano, but they will both sound different because when you start on a combi or sequence none of the effects are loaded.
Korg workstations are uniquely flexible in that in every mode you have complete access to the whole of the effects processing power. This does mean though that you can't have all the effects for every program in a combi or sequence. You also get the short end of the stick here because the TR/LE/X50/MicroX both only have one insert effect, whilst the full triton models (and the newer M3 and M50) have five insert effect slots.
So whilst your piano probably has a compressor or 7-band EQ in program mode, it will start off with nothing in combi or sequence mode, and when you want to combine two or three different sounds, you have to either completely redesign the effects structure, or decide which sounds need or can share effects, what is most important, etc.

Hummm
X-trade.... I sure that the AOOO is acoustic except when I go to make up a new combi then it is a Stab... Last night I wrote down the combi numbers to make up a new combi... I wanted AOOO and A015 piano and strings... wait can you Make a combi out of other combis? is that the problem?.... I also downloaded a new sounds about a year ago... could the triton be using the internal ROM sounds? I dont know anymore... thanks for any help!!!
No, there are a finite number of internal slots. When you select a timbre in a combi, you are selecting from the one of the Program slots. You can't make a combi out of other Combis.
You are right that COMBI A000 is 'Stereophonic Strings' or something similar, which is a piano & string program, whilst PROGRAM A000 is either Portamento Pad or some synth stab... Depending on whether you have an LE or TR?
Anyway, it doesn't matter. No, you can't make a combi out of other combis.
