Google translates it like this from the japanese website:

Update Details
In some of the sound program, set note range (pitch range = range) and the Fixed range is pronounced differently in practice.

Not very forthcoming on the fixes, I'll wait until there is an announcement of sorts.

Unless anyone else has tried the upgrade, noticed any improvements?

"Not very forthcoming on the fixes???" WTF!?!?!? Dude...you made a joke? Right?!?!?!

I'm reading PURE sarcasm here...it's got to be your sense of humor...

It was only 2 weeks ago SAM Ash got theirs in the store and and there is ALREADY AN UPDATE!!!! WOW that is very impressive!

And the update is for a bug I didn't even notice...thats pretty cool in my book. I think it took like, what, a year for a KP3 update?

I think this is very good news indeed. It shows us that Korg is really taking updates seriously and I believe that once we submit our fix request list ( http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... c&start=15 ) that we can expect to see some real positive additions to our new synth.

Thanks Korg!

On the flipside to that coin, SMK, this update is to fix something that no-one really cared about. :P

So I wouldn't get too excited that they'll do anything about the more important stuff.

Here's hoping though...

OK guys, I'm not quick to say that this new update fixes something we don't care about. We are only getting an interpretation from Googles Japanese to English translator which we all know is never going to be very clear.

Again, what I said was "NOT NOTICE", I didn't say anything about not caring. I may not notice the bug now but I am quite sure I will run into something where I go FRAKK!!! "I really need this little tid bit deal to work right" and lo and behold...there it is!

For right now I'm going to wait for the American version.

I never said you said it was something you didn't care about. I said it was a fix for something no-one cared about.
My point was that them fixing something small like this doesn't mean anything. Hopefully they will try to fix other things but I don't see this as proof that they will.

update kaossilator pro

Post by inbetweenmovements »

the update is nice, but one huge bug is that midi sync drifts after a few minutes... I tested it in all modes: master/slave, slave/master, with usb cable and with the midi cable. I really hope they fix it soon!!!!
this is a problem when I want to sync it with the electribes or ableton.

the saving time takes soooooo long, I dont understan why. And there should be a fix/or bounce option for the samples!

STILL I love this machine

midi sync is probably going to stay broken if the kp3 is any indication....

Right on...so can you tell us what it actually fixed?

The google translation posted here really does not say anything about what it really fixes.

While I am impressed that a new firmware version is out now, after just weeks of hitting the store shelves, I am hesitant only because, (and this is going to sound really silly but...) what it might fix may actually be a glitch I find very useful. The horrible translation says something about the KoPro handles note range...and I am very happy how note range is handled now.

The worst thing would be that the programmers in Japan thinking to them selves; "Oh NOOOO we didn't mean for that program to actually go full range...full range kills the original artistic idea we had on how the program should sound. Low notes on that program don't sound good to us so we need to fix that and quick". Alright...thats over-board, but for the most part Korg really should have been a bit more forward with discribing what new fixes are coming.

So for now a review on the up-date would be nice.

Hey, inbetween; can you help us out here with this...at least tell us what it actually fixes? Thanks a head of time.

I wasn't joking but the context wasn't there, I meant, Korg had not shouted about it, plus the information which was found was shortcoming.

Fair play to Korg on releasing Firmware updates, but they need to let the users know when, and why...

Ahhh ok, well like I said, having a new update is impressive but the more I think about it, I totally agree with you that Korg should have had more pre-information on this: what when and why.
