Distortion in main L/R outs?

I've been noticing really bad distortion in my Oasys's main L/R outputs anytime the master volume slider on the main panel is above 50%.

I checked to make certain my audio interface wasn't clipping and it seems fine.

I checked the cables to make sure I didn't have bad ones...you never know.

No dice.

The distortion isn't *subtle* either - we're talking stompbox distortion. The headphone outs are clean and the main outs are fine if the front panel volume slider is halfway down or less.

Any thoughts?

To rule out everything else but the OASYS, plug your headphones directly into the Main L and then the R and listen on those channels for the distortion.

If you don't hear any, well you know it's not the OASYS.

If you do, then I'm afraid you need to take your OASYS to an authorised service centre. There maybe a problem with the Output board. You can also verify this by running your OASYS off the Optical. My guess is that both the headphones and Optical will be clean and the distortion only coming from the main L+R outputs.

Had a problem like this with my Trinity actually once upon a time and KORG UK just replaced my output board.

If your stuck and need a possible temporary solution while you arrange to have the keyboard looked at by an authorised service centre, try routing the audio to the additional 3 & 4 outputs.
