Ok, so i realy dont want to turn this into another EMX Vs ESX thread,
BUT.....
I had a read of Ruso's Advanced Drum techs. for the EMX and noticed the part where he recommends to use either o/p 3 or 4 and to feed that back into the input of the EMX. He then states you can realy manipulate the drum parts (using up one synth part) via the synth oscillator section which the ESX doesnt seem to have.
So does this lead to having more control and being able to make a 'Better' drum sound 'in the longrun' as opposed the ESX?
My question is based on the fact that im not that interested in sampling so much as i am at making a great drum part. I have other instruments for making synths sounds etc, so the EMX/ESX would mainly/only be used as a drum-machine.
Cheers in advance
Which has better Drums?

Ruso's workaround came about because the EMX drums cannot be put through the filter otherwise. Whereas the ESX will allow you to filter them without messing which is a plus point. Though there is no synth oscillator. The main reason the ESX will be better in the longrun is that you will never run out of new drum sounds as you can add new samples, with the EMX you're stuck with what is in the box.

Re: Which has better Drums?
seems like a no-brainer to me - if you already have synths and don't want the synth features of the EMX, get an ESXMrMackie wrote:I have other instruments for making synths sounds etc, so the EMX/ESX would mainly/only be used as a drum-machine.
I have both the ESX-1 and the EMX-1 and love them both. In my honest opinion the drum samples are more and varied on the EMX strangley enough. Aside to the obvious lack of filter controls on the drum parts. But i EQ, Pitch and sample the drums i want to use on my computer first and sample onto the ESX-1 and use the EMX-1 purely for the Synth OSc's. If you want something with good drums on out of the box the EMX-1 has better drums in my opinion.
