Hi
I am quite into buying a Korg Zero 8 to use as my audio interface and mixer in my home studio.
Is this a good option?
I have a Edirol FA-101 but sometimes it records with some noise and more inputs would be great, like the 8 stereo channels I would get with the Korg Zero 8.
The best price I've seen so far in Europe is 695 euros.
Anyone knows of a store with a better price in Europe?
And considering this price range, is there something nicer I could get?
I searched a bit on the forum and I have to say I got a bit worried about all the problems mentioned here.
Do they basically ruin the Zero 8, or is it still worth getting one?
I intend to buy one new with warranty, but it's still not pleasant to have to get it repaired from time to time...
Thanks in advance,
Best regards
Paugui

Hi, the Zero 8 has some great functionality, but also some great problems.
Just the fact that you can buy it for 695 euros and I paid about 1500 when it first came out says a lot.
If it worked perfectly, and there were no problems it would be a dream machine. Unfortunately it doesn't. There are hiss issues, distortion issues, headphone-out problems and not-working touchpads, and more and probably also more to come in the future.
Nevertheless, the functionality is very nice and unique so still even with all these problems 695 euros is a somewhat reasonable price.
1500 euros wasnt though...
hope this helps

Thanks a lot for your nice reply
I already received it at home.
End up paying 705 euros for an ex-demo one, as the store where I was to buy one for that price no longer had them for sale.
Unfortunately that store (the Spanish store Microfusa) wasn't decent enough to reply to my mails and tell me they no longer could get it (which tells me they are quite crappy as a store...).
Fortunately I could find another one which I end up buying.
Only getting back home in two weeks, so I'll have to wait until then to test.
However, since it was an ex-demo product, it was tested in the store and seems to be working great.
I hope it will work pretty well for quite some years.
Will post some comments when I try it
