electribe MX + m-audio Axion 25

Post by triunfun »

Hi guys!!

I got a M-audio Axiom connected to my electribe through midi-IN, and it seems to work properly but when I tried to play the synth channel with external keyboard I only get to play the channel 1 of the synth....I press the synth's channel 2 and when I press the keys it plays channel 1 again....

anyone know why this is happening?? in the electribe midi channel I got set
Ch1 = synth 1
Ch2 = synth 2
.
.
Ch5 = synth 5

Thanks a lot for your help

Hi, I tried the same setup as the OP. I used the Enigma editor to configure Axiom to communicate with EMX, but I am able to play just the Synth 1 with the keyboard and Drum 1, 2, 5a, 5b, 7a and 7b with the pads. Anyone here to help with the configuration?
(I red the manual for both devices, but no succes with the config)

You'll need to change the transmit channel on your keyboard also. If your synth is set to channel 1 etc. Changing the selected part won't change its actual midi settings.

Yep. In fact, the MIDI channel on your controller is the only thing you really have to change.

yeah just change the transmitted MIDI channel on your controller.

@hofa: For mapping the drum parts to pads: check Dr. Note in the manual/ on the electribe
and you'll find the MIDI notes assigned to each drum part (may not be set to default if you or previous owner/s modified them)

drum part's MIDI channel: 10.

then setup the notes assigned to the pads on your controller to the notes of the drum parts as you want. (you should find something about this in your controllers manual.. i hope)

Thanks guys, I will try that today...

@punpkomg: I allready mapped the pads in Enigma editor, but i seems that the midinotes are not correct (in EMX manual or in Enigma editor), because two of the pads are still not "playing"... Will have to experiment a little :)

@hofa

check on the Electribe itself under Dr.Note. the drum notes may not be as shown in the manual/defaults. (they can be set to whatever you want)
