Audible data transmission

Post by Musical Dunce »

I own a 88key m50. I have it hooked up to a keyboard amp. This has been happening from the moment i purchased it in Feb,2010. At power up i hear what is best described as data transmission, nothing to loud but it is there. Also when I change parameters, banks, number keys, i hear this through the amp as well. Also my adapter at the back of the keyboard has that moisture in the contact static sound when the plug is moved. Any recommendations on what to use to dispel this sound. Also is the data transmission normal. Could be I am using a cheap cord for keyboard to amp. Thanks so much,

that's normal.

But as an FYI, you should get in the habit of powering up your amp last and powering it down first. Some keyboards make much worse noise that the data transmission noise you talk about and can blow a speaker or worse.
