Another amazing artist is kcyonao. He synthesized a female voice on the DS-10 as you can hear later in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SqodX4E ... ideo_title
I learned subtractive synthesis on the DS-10 and was blown away when I saw that. I hadn't realized how capable synthesizers were when you get creative with them. I ended up making a patch called GeishaVox which mimics the technique. I had posted it up on the Radias forum.
