Kontrol 49 Drivers for Win 7 64bit
Does anyone know where I can find drivers that work? I downloaded the ones from http://www.korg.co.uk/products/software ... trol49.asp.
These work for my Kaoss pad, but not for the Kontroller. The one thing I notice is that when I plug the keyboard windows doesn't give the USB sound like I get with the Kaoss. I also notice that the keyboard doesn't fully power up from the USB port, like it does when using the wall wort.
I have a HP dv7-4080US.
Does the Kontoler need a Firmware upgrade?

Hello,
This is more of a computer hardware and driver issue... Let's look at it from that angle...
Let's go easy to hard:
It looks like there is a Windows 7 64-bit driver written. Did you try installing that?
Let me know.
Peace,
Matt

This is because your USB port doesn't provide enough power. Did you try another USB port?I also notice that the keyboard doesn't fully power up from the USB port, like it does when using the wall wort.
It is very important that drivers be written for the "bit" of the OS (due to the way drivers operate at a low level and address memory, and this is really what 32 versus 64 bit is... how the OS addresses memory)... so looking at the download page: http://www.korg.co.uk/downloads/driver/dl_driver.aspDoes anyone know where I can find drivers that work [with Windows 7 for the Kontroller49]?

Yes, That is the version that I am using.
I had also found this in one of the spreadsheets from the same area. "*2: A 64-bit application and a 32-bit application cannot use the same MIDI IN port simultaneously. " Does this mean that Reason 4 can't use it?
I am surprised that my computer does acknowledge the Kaoss Pro.

Back to the idea that you say you don't hear the "usb device hooked up" sound when you attached the kontrol49. When you hook it up, and go into device manager (start> run> devmgmt.msc) do you see any devices listed with an exclamation point?
Also, did you try reseating it into another USB port?
Are you sure that the USB port on your Kontrol49 works (try it in another machine)?

It does sound like a hardware problem. As already described, probably the port not providing enough power, or at worst you may have a damaged Kontrol or USB port.
The KORG driver should work with all KORG products, there is only one driver. Just make sure you have the latest version downloaded.

Nope, I don't see any devices listed with an exclamation point. When I try to install it using KORGS install it says "ERROR: No Devide plugged in".
I plugged my keyboard into my netbook and I saw an error saying not a valid USB Device. Which jogged my memory was ther a special USB cable shipped with the KCONTROL49 or was it just a standard USB cable? Not sure if I am using the original.

It should work with any USB-A to USB-B cable. I don't believe there is such thing as a 'special' one, otherwise it wouldn't be USB!
It sounds like you may have a damaged K49.
