Flying With A Micro X

Post by jbordas »

I'm going to be touring the States in November. My setup consists of a controller and a Micro X (and people, it rawks... I just played with this setup in front of 25,000 people at a festival in my country and the Micro X rocked the friggin' house). We definitely will be flying, and I'm VERY scared to take the Micro X on a flight. It is rather small for most road cases and the tilted front panel doesn't help. I wouldn't risk taking it on tour with just the orange case... Does anyone make a flight case for the Micro X? Or is there a case that anyone knows will protect the Micro X on a flight? Has anyone traveled with it?

I own a micro x but I didn't get the case.. from looking @ the pictures of it I always assumed it was pretty rugged and suited for travel? I guess you're not talking about carry-on?

The orange case is really not suited for travel and the Micro X is too big to carry on.

Nice rig, by the way...

I think South-Pak manufactures a case that work work. Take a look at their cases at http://www.south-pak.com/products/hard-cases/. They have a live chat where you can ask about specifics.

Go here. http://www.thepelicanstore.com/?utm_sou ... an%2Bcases

You can get any case, any size. They are very rugged.
They come filled with foam, which is perforated so you can pull it out in the shape of your Micro-x, and it will fit snuggly.

The case will probably cost just as much as the Micro-X did.

I didn't think about that. But hey if you really want it protected, it's worth it.

I flied several times with the MicroX from France to Thailand,Laos and Turkey in it's orange case which is fortunately near "Cabin sized" ... I had no problem with Airways companies to take it with me as "hand luggage" and fortunately the orange case fitted perfectly in hand luggage cabin in Airbus or Boeing. To be sure I usually called the Company before my flights. None refused me to take it on board.
