HELP

Post by gel »

i want to make good music but dont want to go down the computer route, although at times ive been tempted. basically at the moment, i have a korg m50, a mixer, some monitors and a boss 1200 cd. at the moment im using the sequencer on the m50 , recording the
sequence to the boss, then putting some vocals over that., Which i must admit is pretty prehistoric. basically, im looking for a unit that i can organise song structures easily, ive had a mpc 2000xl and didnt get on with it. also i want to possibly incorporate some old school drums. i just sold the micro sampler , that werent for me either. SO what are these kaoss pads about?

the kaoss pad is an effects unit, it's not a sequencer or really meant for making full songs as a standalone unit. it has a simple sampler, which is very easy to use and great fun, but the sample time is limited and it can only hold 4 samples.

Samples are limited to a certain amount of time (16 beats usually unless the bpm gets really low..) but it is very useful and you can keep resampling. It's not something to be used as a dedicated sampler though.
Check out my guide and Review on why you should buy the Korg Kaoss pad 3
