Velocity Curve on OASYS 88 Key.
Hi all.
Just wondering here, what do you have the velocity curve set to on your OASYS 88 Key right now? I've struggled with this for quite a while as I felt the range was very short and uncontrollable on the default setting.
In all my years using a KORG I've never had to set it to “1” but with the OASYS I do in order to get as much dynamic range as possible from my playing.
It's not a problem, I was wondering what other 88key O users where running theirs at.
Regards

velocity curve
Hi Sharp and Peter,
Well, or something is wrong with my Oasys or I have to go to the gym more often....
If I change my velocity curve (I assume you are talking about the one in the Global page) to 1 or 2 I really have to slam the keys to get any decent volume out of the Oasys so most of the the times it is fixed to the default 4 setting but once in a while I changed it to the 5 setting, With a setting lower than 4 I find it extremely difficult not only to get any reasonable volume out of the 88 but I find it also very difficult to control touch sensitive parameters like cut-off frequency or anything else that is modulated by key velocity.
Best regards,
Pieter

Either it's because I'm weird or a noob with the O, but I do change it to suit the sounds I'm playing.
Pads, I tend to have higher - 5 usually. Leads/solos come down to 3.
Does that make sense?

I'm used to play generally with the default setting 4 but I admit it's a little bit difficult for me to reach the maximum velocity sometimes - even if I'm classically trained. Maybe I handle the O with higher care than needed.
So, I can use the setting 5 - but then it's a little bit difficult to play soft notes sometimes.
4.5 would be the best for me.

Hi Sharp:
In my case it's always set to 4.
