Importing SMF into the LE

I did a search and couldn't find an answer. Im wondering if anyone can give me some simple steps to do this.

I want to take a standard midi file from the internet, use the card to import into the LE, change to the SNG file and then edit the information using the sounds from the LE.

I'm working on it but if someone can explain it simply I would appreciate it.
