Windows 7 64 bit & new Legacy updates

Post by Richard_L »

Are the new updated versions of the Legacy Edition instruments, both analog and digital collections, actually updated or just broken out separately for sales purposes?

And, more to the point, will these individual versions run stand alone under Windows 7 64 bit?

I'm upgrading from XP very soon and expect (hope) that they will work as vst's in Sonar and Live but am curious if anyone has experience with the stand alone versions yet.

Yes, Windows 7 x64 can run 32-bit applications without any issues.

Yes, it works.

Besides the 32bit standalones, I'm also using all Korg VSTs (32bit) under Ableton Live 8.3 (32bit) on my Windows 7 (64bit) with no issues.

I have the same problem. When I try to load a bank xxx.m1all I get the message "Failed to load a bank file".

Please help, I am assured by the vendor of the bank that it works for other people so I suspect it's a Win7 problem. I have tried WinXP SP3 compatibility but it doesn't help.

Thanks.

I just tried File, Load, All Data... and was able to load the M1_Numb.m1all with no issues on my Win7 64bit laptop.

Are you using the FILE menu *inside* the VST ?! Next to the WRITE and UTILITY menu options (top left corner) ?

Edit: Wait, as I tried to do it a 2nd time, now it shows that error too. Weird.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I am using the blue FILE button next to the WRITE button.

Is it possible to get a copy of a known working .m1all file that I could try in case my supplier is wrong about his?

Also, where are all the data files stored? I can't find them.

SOLVED:

You have to select *.m1all in Files of Type in the Win7 browse for file dialog even though the file you are looking for is already listed. The defaults Files of Type is *.fxb which still shows all the m1.all as well, double clicking the .m1all file from this list give the error "Failed to load a bank file".

oh, you're right :D

I guess I did that instinctively the first time and forgot to do it again the 2nd time, eh :)
