R3dias 'hit-able' effects/drums ideas?

I'm planning on making a drum/effects kit in logic, and I want to use as little outside samples (except for more complex sounds like hats and snares) as I can, and many sounds created on my R3. I'm trying to think of ideas for sounds I could create that would go well with dubstep, kind of dark, distorted sounds.

Now it's obviously easy to make a bass drum or tom with a little bit of pitch modulated by an EG, but what other cool effects and drum pieces have you made using your synth?

I'm specifically looking for ideas of things I can create that aren't very pitched, or are chromatic, simply because I'm trying to assemble a drum kit I can use with any song, not one specific key.
