Sorry for being a complete noob, but can someone advise me as to what cables i need to connect a monotron/iphone to the R3. I have a bunch of cables but none of them seem appropriate. If someone tells me the name of the specific cable(s) or a link or something it would be most appreciated.
I got a monotron for Christmas and would like to try linking it up to my R3.
Many thanks and Merry Christmas.

You need a Y cable with a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo mini jack plug to two mono 1/4" jack plugs (one labelled Tip and the other Ring).

You'll need to decide whether you want to send the monotron output to the R3 inputs, or visaversa.

here's a tip, since so many people seem to struggle with the cables question
you look at one bit of gear and see what kind of output it has. the manual will tell you if you're not sure
(monotron and iphone both have a 3.5mm stereo headphone output - N.B. the monotron manual warns "Do not connect a cable with a monaural plug to the headphone jack.")
then you look at the other bit of gear and see what kind of input it has. the manual will tell yuou if you're not sure.
(the R3 has two 1/4" mono inputs, and pages 8 and 29 in the manual tell you how to connect an external source to process it with the R3)
then you get a cable with the right connectors on one end, and the right connectors on the other end - simple eh?
