KARO's orchestra & strings
I'm rather enjoying KARO's newest libraries - KSL (symphonic library) and KUO (unison orchestra). The latter makes use not only of strings, but orchestral stacks, brass, choir and percussion samples.
SONG #1

I used the OASYS' sequencer - 16 MIDI tracks. No audio layers. Some sounds are EXs3 cornet, flute, factory harp, vibraphone - the rest are KARO samples.
SONG #2
I'm going to do 3 songs, here is the second one. After the short song, I demo each instrument used, individually:

I'm listening to the wave file and it's so much better! I'm going to try and replace this with a Youtube download, when I get off work. I seem to get decent audio with the demo vids.

The example sounds very nice indeed. Mike, why don't you just post a .WAV at your site. People should be able to play it just fine. Youtube uses compression too.
I was thinking about the RAM on the Kronos and until/if the RAM is upgradable, one could unload one of the 4+GB pianos. I would think that would free up a chuck of RAM. I suspect I will be using the German D and could probably put the Japanese piano on the back burner to free up space for other samples.
Busch.

Great work Mike! I have the KSL and the KMC and they're both immacutely put together and well worth the money.
@ Busch - Can't speak about the K obviously, but with the O, to load the Karo Symphonic Library the EXs2 Pianos need to be unloaded (or rather unloader, then rebooted, then load the KSC) otherwise all the sample files don't load. And it also requires 2Gb RAM.

Re: KARO's orchestra & strings
Mike,
Great movie song!
I also have the KSL symphonic lib and I like it more then my east west hollywood strings! I hope Korg will include the Karo libs with streaming for the new KRONOS!
Mike what is this for a choir sound? Great classical Ahhs!
are this also from Karo? What is the differenz from KSL to KUO?
Looking forward to hearing more orch. demos from you!
Cheers,
Oasys76

I'm looking at the Karo website in another tab at the moment and can't seem to find the Karo Unison Orchestra (KUO) mentioned above on the Karo website.
Would be interested to hear some more samples if I could find them - would be great if you could let me know where I'm going wrong!
Thanks

Re: KARO's orchestra & strings
Thankyou, Kurt!
Supposedly, it's not on their site, yet (see below), so I don't know if refinements are being made, or if there is a further upgrade path. I'll leave Kurt and Oliver to answer that.
I can tell you that there is a lot of overlap with the strings. Many of the KUO strings were from KSL. Again, this may be an upgrade, just as KSL was an upgrade from Philharmonic String Library - and boy was it, as you know!
Anyway, I went through the multisamples and got rid of what was in common, then I was able to fit both libraries into the OASYS, at the same time. (I had to reassign some multisamples in programs.) Both have Tremolo, Timpani and Pizzicatto, but they were different. Here is what KUO adds to KSL:
Orchestral percussion mix
Taiko Drums 1
Taiko Drums 2 (with cymbals)
Big Brass
Spiccato orch strings
Sordino Stereo strings (different from Sordino Quartet layers)
Arco Strings 2
Classical Choir
Chamber Strings 2
Marcato Strings 1
Marcato Strings 2
Full Orchestra 1 (37 stereo samples for most of these)
Full Orchestra 2
Full Orchestra 3
Staccato Orchestra 1
Staccato Orchestra 2
Staccato Orchestra 3
Staccato Orchestra 4 (43 stereo samples)
There is also a User-B bank of programs of mostly EXs3 Brass/Woodwind sounds. KSL has several of these EXs3 oriented banks, also.
Yes, it is a KARO choir.oasys76 wrote:Mike what is this for a choir sound? Great classical Ahhs!

They just recently finished it and I guess it's not there, yet. I used a personal order link for KSL and KUO, together.cello wrote:I'm looking at the Karo website in another tab at the moment and can't seem to find the Karo Unison Orchestra (KUO) mentioned above on the Karo website.
