Using microfon - how do you setup the default ?

Hi. I sometimes use the microfon and sing true the Korg PA2xpro. But It is very difficult too get a good setup in the voiceprocessor and the reverb. Last saturday I sing and play to a familiparty. My voice sound terrible - the EQ and compressor and the reverb and the... What do you do ? I consideret to buy TC Helicon Voice Tone Create XT and connect my microfon too this first and then connect to the Korg's Microfon XLR in.
That solution cost a little money and perhaps not nesserery or ???
What do you think ?
