conclusions on the new pa3x - buyers read

Post by deliad »

hi

Last week i played on the pa3x

Im owner of pa800 256mb and there are some things i put attention on:

-the pa3x is weight is 1.5 killo higher by the 800
-the touch screen has been replaced in the 61 and its hard to press untill the screen response, its thing made me nervos, the screen size is smaller than 800
-the pa3x has 16 performance butons instead of 11 buttons but the page count on each button on the 3 is increased to 4 instead of 2
-the pa800/pa2x are NOT Compatible with the pa3x that means you cant load full / parts of pa3x set to 2/800 only what you can are the styles Only
-the pa3 looks to me less width than the 800
Im afraid that the pa3 with the paAs will require me to move far from the wall with the stand to be able to connect it

Can't vote on something that i really no nothing about.
These are your conclusions - no offence - but let's at least wait until it is available to be played and seen and heard and fully, finally spec'd

I really don't understand the purpose of the poll at this early stage:?

I appreciate that you've played it but the chances of my being able to do that pre April are very slim.

Just my thoughts

Sorry but, to tell you the truth I am ready to laugh  with your post!!
I think you must find other good and real reasons to persuade yourself not to buy soon a PA3X!!

The PA3X is not really announced yet. The pre-annouce so called, was so poor , well, someone in Japan should be selling vegatables at the super market instead!

If you think it is announced go to KORGPA.com and see if it is there...NO!

I have no idea what the PA3X really is at this point, so how could I say if I like it.
IF they did not fix/imprive MANY sounds...I will not be buying it. T4 sound is there competition for me.
I will be changing kbd's one way or the other....soon.
My PA2XPRO is currently listed for sale, on buy/sell.

Is the Screen smaller than the current Keyboards for real? Are you sure about that?

Software and hardware are usually backward-compatible, and not the other way around. That's just too obvious!

Sam,
Frank V. was at the NAAM show ..he told us the screen was clearer (better) that the PA800/PA2...but he didn't say anything about size. The specs on resolution (320x240) from PA2 - Pa3 are the same...I think the size is the same (wish it was larger).

Nothing about the PA3 on KorgPA yet..hope soon.

The screen is far better than PA2X!! It has a very clean view without any "ghost images"! The size is the same. It's TFT.
Also the extra speaker has a very good quality but it's expensive!

How is the Keys on the 61 version compared to the PA800,
is it semi weighted?

yes it's strange but the keys in the 61 keys feels like pa2x keys which are semi-whighted too (in the pa2x spec you can see it) , in fact they are not like the standard keys like on the 800

but i'm waiting to test the pa3x 76 keys version to see if it's the same or other keys and i will let you know also about that

Thanks deliad for the information regarding keys, so we understand that there are no differences between the two models, and they are both semiweighted. The same information I received from our local distributor (Romania), who was at the NAMM show. But in this case, how can we explain the differences that appear in the specifications of Pa3X, on Korg official site USA and UK ? There they say 61-keys and 76 - semiweighted, which suppose a difference between them.
