Accessing Full DNC Sounds for PA800 in External Sequencer

Post by Sintie »

Sometimes I start a song in the backing sequence mode, and then import the midi file into Cubase to continue working on it. Recently, I used the Unplugged Ballad 1 style which has very authentic acoustic guitars in Var1. However, in Cubase these become basic guitars - the fret noise is gone. How can I keep the effect from the style?

That is a feature of the style called guitar-mode.
External use is not possible.
Best regards from germany

Thanks, Lessismore. I thought as much. I guess I will have to record the backing sequence as audio.

Actually, it's totally possible to program or playback anypart of the style including the tracks that use "Guitar mode". I can't remember which page, but you'll find it, if you search the manual for (Guitar mode+external sequencer) ...

DNC is not really related to the guitar mode though.

From the PA500 manual - sure it's the same with PA800 too ...

"Note: When programming a Guitar track from an external
sequencer, you must be sure the Guitar tracks is associated to the
right channel. Go to the Global > MIDI > MIDI IN Channels page,
and assign the corresponding Style track (usually Acc1 ~ Acc5) to
the same channel of the Guitar track on the external sequencer.
Then, go to the Style Record > Style Track Controls > Type/Tension/
Trigger page, and set the track as a track of type “Gtr” (see
“Track Type” on page 126)."
