USB port able to power a lamp?
Hello!
Playing in a metal band means I'm unable to wear my glasses on stage... One headbang and they would fly right off! This means that on a dark stage it's often very hard for me to see my footswitches on the floor. Until now I've been using a regular lamp, or even just a battery powered flashlight taped to the underside of the keyboard, just in order to illuminate my feet so I can see where I'm standing.
I was wondering however whether the USB port on the back of the TEX would output enough power for me to use a USB powered lamp? I've tried plugging my mobile phone into it and it seems to charge up, which leads me to assume that it is a powered USB port, but as it is only intended to be used as a means to connect a storage device, I haven't been able to find any other information about its power output.
So, does anyone know if this would work okay? Just before I go ahead and spend a few quid.
Thanks,
Elliot

I know for sure its a USB 1 port. Wich is why using compact flash is faster.
It wouldn't surprise me if you can handle a usb lamp.
but hers what i did back in the days of my karma (now have triton extreme)
I would get a coin cell battery (2025,2032)
and get a pack of LED's, just put the shorter end on the ground (-) side of the battery, tape it to your pedals. its not bright enough where people will wonder wtf is going on down there, and it works.
I am a metal player too, so i know where youre coming from! Link to a band of yours by any chance? please share.
Also, if youre feeling like a real badass and know VERY basic stuff about circuits, open up youre sustain pedal, buy one of those illuminating rocker switches, and wire up a nine volt battery to it, then just turn the switch on (keep in mind, its not connected to any of the sustain pedal circuits) and it will illuminate.

also, i have some awesome metal type patches for the triton on my website, check it in my sig.

Ahh yes that's a good idea. I'll have a look in the hardware store for something... It would be nice for it to be very compact, as I like to be able to fit all of my pedals and cables into my hardcase along with the TEX... It's so much easier than taking another box/bag. So a few LEDs and a battery would probably make more sense than an extra lamp. Thanks!
Bloodsteel sounds great man. Can't beat a bit of power metal.

This is just a studio project, so everything you hear on the recordings is performed by me.
