Cue Mode

Post by Peter J »

Hi All,
I have recently been working on a style for Mustang Sally and am puzzled as to the working of cue mode on some chord changes. I have variation 1 set to 8 bars in key C for cv1 [which also allows for the subsequent F chord change] and cv2 is set to 4 bars of G7. In fact for cv2 the G7 changes to F at bar 3 but since the F chord coincides with a break [i.e. no accompaniment tracks] this is not a problem.
I have set cue mode to 'next measure, first measure' but am finding inconsistencies in operation depending on when the G7 chord change is made. If the G7 chord change is made at the end of bar 4 or 8 of the cv1 [ C or F chord] then cv2 [G7 chord ] enters correctly and starts at bar 1, but if the G7 chord change is made at the end of bar 2 or 6 of the cv1 [ C or F chord] then cv2 [G7 chord ] enters incorrectly starting at bar 3 [i.e. the silent break section of cv2]. Nevertheless, as long as the song layout/chord sequence is strictly followed, then correct interpretion of the cv2 [G7] occurs [starting at bar 1 and playing through to bar 4] and the style works well.
As I say, I am puzzled as to why dependent on when the chord change is made that cv2 will sometimes start in the middle and I am wondering whether there is something that I am missing. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
Peter J
