SW1 and SW2

Post by Joao275 »

I would like to know if it is possible to assign the SW1 or the SW2 to control different parameters like sustain. If it's possible, how do I assign for instance the SW1 to sustain?

SW1 and SW2 can be configured to control almost anything... but it's not clear what you mean by 'sustain'. Do you mean as a substitute for the sustain pedal? Or to increase the release time of the sounds (so they fade away slower)? Or to increase the volume of the sound while the keys are held? Or maybe something else?

If you describe what you want to do in more detail, we can give you some detailed instructions. ;-)

When I say sustain I mean as a substitute for the sustain pedal. It would be very useful for me to do that using SW1 or SW2.

You need to assign it to MIDI CC #64. That should do it!

The problem is that it can't be directly assigned to a CC#.. It only can be assigned to SW1 and SW1 Modulation (CC#80 and CC#81), Octave Up and Down, Portamento On/Off and Joystick Lock..

You're right. My mistake - I thought it was assignable to any CC. Looks like it can't be done. :-(
