I realise this is a pretty old thread, but just thought I would reply for the sake of others who may have this question.
SmartMedia cards are very hard to find worldwide these days, having been discontinued quite some time ago. Electrically, SmartMedia cards are virtually identical to XD cards - it's primarily the form factor is different.
Hence it's possible to use an XD to SmartMedia adaptor and use much more readily available XD cards with the Triton LE. The main caveat is that the XD card must be 128MB or under, and these are becoming increasingly difficult to find as well. XD Adaptors can be obtained from ebay for around $5.00 to $10.00. Just make sure that it doesn't have any casings on it that may impede insertion into the LE - mine had a plastic case I needed to remove in order to get it to fit.
Failing that, your only other option is to use the EXB-SMPL to add SCSI to your LE, and then use a SCSI Hard Drive, CD-ROM of SCSI to CF adaptor.
Man I feel old-skool when I still use my LE and hook up SCSI and SmartMedia cards. It seems I shall forever be trapped in the 90s!
