just bought the radias

Post by dflan83 »

at $699 the price was right!

after being uninspired by the novation ultranova I took the plunge and decided the radias was right for me. My brother had one in the past when they were still $1200 and I remember being in awe of the lightshow and sound of the radias. My primary use for this synth is going to be ambient soundscapes, evolving textures and fun for when I'm not at the computer making music. Alas I've sold al my hardware gear in favor of vst's, but this synth has a certain style that I cant deny.

SO.... greetings.. and lets see what else... where is a good place to start for radias 2.0 sounds?

Hi dflan83,
Welcome to the forum!
Congrats on your purchase. The Radias is an awesome piece of kit.
Have you seen the Radias section of the Downloads area?

I used to play Korg instruments, then I took an arrow to the knee.

The Ultranova was buggy and had some issues where it would constantly create a buzz when using headphones. Also after downloading the ultranova drivers it wouldnt always be recognized in ableton. I think my frustation came from having to deal board with novation support (better yet lack thereof).

As far as sound.. it was ok not typically ground breaking.. very digital and cold sounding similar to my nova II keyboard I once owned. Seems Novation gear was always hit or miss with me.

I enjoy and still have my ks5
