Spontanious control changes

Post by vinch »

My MicroKorg XL developed a life of it's own  . Any patch I pull and start playing after a while suddenly some controls change without me touching anything but the keys. In example on the grand piano patch the Hi EQ jumps to 0 and after a while some frequency modulation starts. The display shows the control change. It happens in all patches and pretty much renders the unit unusable.
Any ideas? Has anyone encountered such a phenomenon?

normally due to electrical grounding issues on the pots causing 'jitter'. a shortcut solution if possible is to use the knob 'catch' mode so that knobs only jump to a position if it passes through the current parameters value.
