Piano(once again)

Post by Morshu »

I've made many pianos, many pianos on the R3, but all of them sound strange in most tracks, they all have a signature weirdness to them, one sounds 16 bit, another sounds like its a really old piano and another sounds like a bad 90's keyboard piano. I can't get the perfect nice ambient piano I have on my microkorg on the R3, Because I still am pretty confused on how the R3 ticks. its not setup in a simple way so I can understand how the EGs work. So I fail to create the perfect piano... However do any of you happen to have those PianoOne Two and Tri patches? because those were very accurate and well, I don't have them anymore... TeKRok had them, but I havn't seen him on these boards for centuries. Any help?

Settings should be more or less the same as on your microKorg. The EGs work the same.
EG1 controls filter (you have to turn up EG Int(ensity)) for the filter. That controls the amount (or 'intensity') of the EG going to cutoff.
EG2 controls the volume

EG3 controls nothing unless you assign it with virtual patch. Similarly you can use virtual patch to additionally route the other EGs to other sources, for example to OSC1 Control 1 for pulse width or VPM Intensity.

I use a Radias so unfortunately can't try your patches or give any direct (knob by knob) advice.

If you want to know how something specific works, just ask. That's what the forum is for!

I think the Radias and R3 were released before Korg started doing videos... also their pure-synth products are just generally less supported as they hold a significantly smaller market share than workstation keyboard products like the M3 and KRONOS.
