Pedal Question

Post by vlcmcd »

Hey Everyone Im new to the Korg Forum, though I have a question. Few years back I bought the KORG TR workstation. Just recently i bought what I think is a sustain pedal (VFP 1). I tried plugging it in to the back of the workstation and i believe I have to assign it, though im not sure how to do so in order that I may begin to put the pedal to use with the keyboard. Can anyone help me, or direct me to where I may be helped with this issue, or even let me know if I have a pedal that is correct for my set up. Thank you.

Sustain Pedal (also known as a Damper Pedal e.g. on a piano) goes in the Damper jack-socket.

It should already be set up for sustain.

Of course you also have the Assignable Switch (like a sustain pedal - on/off think) and Assignable Pedal (e.g. expression pedal - continuous controller) inputs, and they can be assigned in Global Mode.

If you find your sustain pedal sustains all the time except for when you press the pedal, then you need to reverse the polarity. Again, look to global mode to do this. There should be a page on Foot Controllers or something similar.

Also remember that when you make a change to the Global settings, if you want them to remain next time you power on, you'll need to 'write' the settings either with the rec/write button or through the utility menu on the screen.
