PC and Trinity on one SCSI Chain

Post by Azazel »

Hi All,

I'm hoping to put my Trinity on the SCSI chain I currently use, which has an Akai CD3000XL, card reader and Zip Drive. I will have to get a SCSI splitter to get them all on.

My question is will connecting the Trinity to the PC cause any conflicts. My SCSI card's ID is 7 but this can be changed, so they can both appear on one chain, but will they end up trying to read the disks at the same time and corrupt them or worse still damage each other?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Only if you make them do that. :)
Usually it is not a problem to have two (or more) hosts on the same bus, should be working by design. However, it is wise to avoid silly things, like running parallel writes referring the same data on the same device at the same time.
