Yes, this is what is known as a bitter post.
Please forgive me..
Remember when the M3 got the update that included drag and drop editing, live meters and so on?
Now the Kronos gets extra user banks.
This should all be in the Oasys too!
Ok, enough bitterness for now.
At last! Long awaited Oasys features for the, eerh, Kronos..

I had to laugh when I saw this statement over in the Kronos forum:
Soundsets and sample libraries? Between what I've got on the O already and on my computer, I have more sounds than I can use in 100 lifetimes, so that's not something that's as important to me as those other functions that would've completed my instrument and enhanced my workflow.
Imagine the perception of goodwill from users that Korg could have garnered had they continued to support the (granted) small number of loyalists who invested in the actual first go of this generation of technology! What I see with the Kronos is all the promise of what the Oasys was supposed to be. I'm not bitter towards the Kronos users -- it is awesome that they will have the access to what is becoming a much more robust open architecture platform than what Korg actually sold as "Open Architecture".
The new update for the Kronos is really just another slap in the face to the real early adopters. Generally, I was ok with the Oasys' discontinuation, and even in comparing the features of the 1st generation Kronos and Oasys, I'm still more than satisfied with the quality and capabilities of the Oasys. But the features they're adding to Kronos now -- most notably, the USB MIDI capability and the extra banks -- are things that would have made the Oasys absolutely perfect to me. So, admittedly, I'm a little bitter to see those capabilities added into an OS that continued to be worked on, even those I was told it was discontinued for me!DavyP wrote: It would have been nice to see Korg giving something back to its loyal customers and early adopters who have invested a lot of money in this product. They gave the M3 expanded sounds away, why cant they subsidise the Kronos?? It might even attract further sales of the Kronos??
