using kaoss pad as an external effect in ableton live 8

this has probably been addressed here already, but i wasn't able to find the answer i was looking for when i did a search. i just started using the kp3, and i want to use it as an external effect in live 8 (if that's possible). my audio interface is a fast track pro. so far i've only been able to use the kp3 as an effect if i run an analog cable from the microphone jack on the fast track into the mic jack on the kp3, and have my headphones plugged into it. it can do effects to the audio that way, but i'd rather have it go through live. has anyone else done this that could help me out? i'd appreciate it

Get an RCA to RCA cable and connect it from the audio out of your computer and then into the audio in on the KP3. Then you can either run the output into monitors or you can get a RCA to 1/4 in(or 1/8 with a 1/4 adapter) and run that into one of the inputs of the Fast Track.

im trying to do the same with an line 6 ux1 pod. trying to use the kaoss pad with ableton to apply and record effects on certain tracks. will i be able to do so with this setup?

i received my kp3 today, so a helpful guidance how to make this work would be appreciated!
