Sounds for the Microstation?

Post by splinters »

I sold my PS60 a while ago but really missed the sounds. When i got the chance to pick up a Microstation from a respected record producer for £180, well, i jumped at the chance.
I found it impossible to get new sounds for the ps60 and wondered if there were any available for the Microstation. I realise you can program it, and that they are essentially the same sounds in both boards, but i dont have the time and would love to hear what it is capable of producing beyond the standard soundset.
Is there anywhere? Also, is there any way of getting that virtual B3 from the sweetwater demo? It is quite impressive.

I am not asking other users to share their sounds (unless they would like to), just if there are any sites with downloads.
The Sweetwater set just isnt as option as i am in the UK.

Perhaps some of you are thinking 'there are loads of sounds in there' or 'program your own'. I am just looking for some new sounds, perhaps a little different. Seeing what Sweetwater did with the b3 patch got me quite interested in the possibilities.
Great little keyboard though. I was blown away last night by the sounds of features of what essentially looks like a toy.

I'm actually on my way to pick up a microSTATION right now. I expect to use the editor a lot for creating new sounds. However, I did also see the Sweetwater sounds. The organ blew me away, I'm really into that sound right now and was amazed that someone already had done what I intended to try out.

I actually found my way here searching for that organ patch.

That being said. I can't order from Sweetwater since I live in northern Europe, it's actually sold at a better prize where I live and I get it right away - and I avoid any extra costs too. I miss out on that SD-card though and that really blows.

So if anyone would like to either post here or PM me how to do what he does in this clip, please share your knowledge:

I'm not sure if it's allowed to share the files / settings. But the information can't really be copyrighted can it?

Anyone know how the sound set works? Is it a single bank of sounds or does it overwrite the internal sounds somehow?

It overwrighted my user program and combi banks .
The sounds are excellent. I dont think it gave me the option of which ones I wanted to load or where to load them.

I understand how to backup and transfer patches but I don't really understand how to listen to new patches and then combine the new ones that I like with the factory settings - since I'd very much like to keep most of the factory sounds while adding a few new ones.

I had to overwrite the entire memory with the downloaded patch-file and I don't really like that so I installed my backup of the factory patches again.

These don't overwrite existing patches/combis as far as I can tell, they add them to the user sections. Great sounds by the way.
