How to fix cracked/missic plastic? (56k Warning!)

Post by ShaneLessor »

Hi everyone! I can't really explain this better than the pictures so I'll just let them speak for themselves. How can I get this fixed, approximately how much (USD) will this cost, and also, how can I protect my joystick during transportation? Korg really should have made the joystick retractable in some way.

(Broken Plastic near joystick and missing plastic near floppy.)

(PS, don't ask me how this happened. I don't know what year my Triton was manufactured (unfortunately) and this was the fault of the previous owner(s).

P.P.S, (random question) How do I change a program name?

Thanks in advance! :D

I replaced the floppy drive because it too was smashed when I got the Triton. The L/R headphones wasn't working either because a simple cable snagged out. Both were easy fixes, but I still wonder about this big crack. If you want more pictures, I can supply them.

Sorry for the double-post. I found this website with one of the parts I need.

http://www.guitar-parts.com/catalog/korg-joystick-panel

Is it a reliable site? Anyone have any experience? Also, does this include the front area to the floppy disk drive?

For $8 I'd take the chance. Let me check the service manual and see if that's one piece. It looks like it is from your pics.
Current Korg Gear: KRONOS 88 (4GB), M50-73 (PS mod), RADIAS-73, Electribe MX, Triton Pro (MOSS, SCSI, CF, 64MB RAM), SQ-64, DVP-1, MEX-8000, MR-1, KAOSSilator, nanoKey, nanoKontrol, 3x nanoPad 2, 3x DS1H, 7x PS1, FC7 (yes Korg, NOT Yamaha).

I agree, I think it's one piece. But I'll also need the left side plastic piece because the area where the headphones jack is is all missing/cracked, they have that part though, so I'll be fine. I'll look for the service manual online, thanks!
