How much to print Operation Guide?
I want to print mine off the PDF. I would like it to have a spine bound so that I can take it on the train, in the bathroom, flip through it and dog ear. I don't want a binder. I can't stare at the screen after staring at the computer all day but I want to learn as much as I can through and through on this wonderful instrument. Also, I cannot find where I replied to another topic if there was a part number from Korg where I could order a real copy in color. Anyone know a roundabout cost?

Go to the Kinkos site like I did and build a quote - a three ring binder was $176! I'll keep looking the screen for now.Bach42t wrote:I want to print mine off the PDF. Too much equipment. What a bonehead.
I found a friendly office printer when its boss was out, and did it in three or four chunks. Already had a box of poly pockets, got a nice blue, lever arch folder. Took a while to pocket everything, but is there to study, write on, update, etc.

Recommend acquiring an iPad and put the docs on it. You'll get a 2nd hand iPad 1 for close to the pricesbeing quoted here.
I have all my musical documentation - over 30,000 pages worth - as PDF documents in iBooks on my iPad. For example, I have all of the Apple Logic / Mainstage... docs; all of NI's documents, all of the OASYS documents - and the documents to dozens of other synthesizers - always available at all times.
The ability instantly access the document, seach, move quickly between pages, zoom in on diagrams... just excellent. It is not the same as using PDFs on your computer - the multitouch is part of the rapidity and usefulness of it.
Aside from this, the iPad can be used for an astounding range of seriosu music apps that have been documented on this forum many times.
It doesn't have to be an iPad - virtually all tablet devices will hold PDF documents.

I would consider a real e-reader, the ones you can watch like normal paper.

I had my Operations Manual printed at Kinkos and it was expensive. I had the other manuals printed at Office Depot and it was nearly half the price. The print quality isn't as good as Kinkos but it's good enough and the coil binding is the same. These are not color. I don't even want to think what the Parameter Guide would be in color at Kinkos.

I had the same thought, but he wouldn't be able to make notes. Too bad the manual isn't in iBook format. You can make highlight and make notes. And both are listed in the contents, making them easy to find. I love that feature! How many times have you taken notes in a text or large manual and then had trouble finding the one you were looking for later?Kevin Nolan wrote:Recommend acquiring an iPad and put the docs on it. Actually, there's an iPad app that DOES support PDF annotation. Check out: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pdf-expe ... 16844?mt=8danmusician wrote:I had the same thought, but he wouldn't be able to make notes. Too bad the manual isn't in iBook format. Music Reader
There is a great app called Music Reader, which I have all my charts in as pdf docs. You can annotate, etc. and the owner actually listens to his customers and makes changes accordingly. It works with any PDF document.

OK I appreciate the comments, but I don't want to look at a computer screen if I can. Perhaps the e-readers with less the paperwhite display would suffice. I like the iPad, but it does still seem like I am staring at a screen. I think it's possible to print myself at the self-copying part but then I couldn't get the nice color screen grabs, without breaking up the file and pulling out those pages that are color. May end up with the e-reader I guess. I guess I could sell my Kronos and get a Jupiter 80 if they still come with the printed manual.
Just kidding.

Re: Music Reader
I purchased a similar app for the iPad2 called "Unrealbook". I love the interface a lot better. I can bookmark any page in a 1000 page Fake Book and recall it instantly at the touch of a menu or Setlist item. It cost $4.99. I put all my charts, music, fake books, setlists, manuals, etc. on this bugger.deanspy wrote:There is a great app called Music Reader, which I have all my charts in as pdf docs.
