R3 Stopped Working

Post by Vicious Riff »

I've been using my R3 as a midi controller and never had any problems. I used it on Saturday with no problems and switched it off at the end of the night. On Sunday, I switched it on and only the five red panels in the top right corner were lighting up. They didn't contain any information, they only lit up. I'm also not getting any sound.

As the only functioning part is where the power supply connects, one of my friends suggested it might be the power adapter that's damaged, someone else suggested a short somewhere.

Any help, ideas or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Power cycle it again. See if it does the same thing on the second or third attempt.

Thanks for the quick response!

How do I do that? I tried turning it on and off several times with no luck.

I appreciate your help.

Doing what you did should be enough. Your power supply may be bad. You can try another one, but be sure it has the right voltage, power rating, and connector polarity. I also have the X50, which uses the same power supply as the R3, so I can swap them, but you may have to buy another one.

I'll give that a try before I take it to a repair shop. Hopefully it's just the power supply!

Thanks for your help!
