emx-1 Static noises

when I start it up i'm getting a lot of static and it continues for as long as it's on. i've switched to all of the audio inputs and turned the tube gain on and off and i'm still getting static. the music plays still but the static is present. has anyone else had this problem and what did they do to fix it?

What kind of monitors are you using? An amp, simple pc boxes, headphones? I also had some serious issue with static noises, it was helpful to keep the level of the emx at a minimum, and higher it on your amp or whatever. Also, what cables are you using? Are there any adapters in between, since these things always add abit of noise to the output.

i'm using amp chords to a bass amp. when i plug in my keyboard there is no static coming from the same amp using the same chords. the static is just so overbearing. i'll try the minimum volume but i'm not sure if it'll help. should i just send it to guitar center/korg to get her fixed or get a new one?

First of all, I would double check if actually something is broken. You probably have some other a,ps or pc boxes to check if the electribes output is wrong. Also, try to use the headphone out and connect it to your amp.

Tried all jacks still static. Opened it up and the headphone jack plastic part is cracked. Idk if that's the problem. I can see that messing up the headphone jack but not the rest. Would that be the source of the static? What should I do?

As you probably have no static sounds using the amp with other instruments, something must be wrong with the emx or its cables. Does the headphone jack work? If not, you still have some kind of warranty and send it to Korg. But this procedure is very lame and your emx will be gone for 2 weeks and more, so just again make sure the emx is damaged. You have to exclude that it is not the amp, what you did, and to ensure that the cables are working as well. I am that repetive since my Kaoss Pad 3 also made some awful static noise, but finally it were just the cables suffering from a production mistake.

I will try different cables today when I get a hold of some. Thank you for beig helpful. I have a question to ask you. The global card or whatever ta called for the emx, can you save patterns and songs on it or what exactly does it do? I called guitar center and they told me they'd send me a new electribe but I don't want to lose my music

Do you own the old or the SD-Version? Both are able to save complete Patterns to a SD and I think a SM-Card.

What stands under Step 14? If there is the SD brand, you own the sd version.

I got my Electribe SX a few days ago and I have one issue related to this question. I´ve just tried the headphones output to my headphones and I understood that a "dusty" noise is being issued and this sound gets louder as I turn up the master output volume or the tube gain. You have mentioned that your outcome is static. I think this one is not static but dusty. I just want to make sure if it´s normal or not. And one interesting thing is when play samples or drum hits you can´t listen to this dusty noise. Do you have any tip about this? Should I returned it and change for a new one?

The Emx is known for its sound not really being that clean, including static noises. Nevertheless, if they only occur without no parts playing, this should not be a problem. I also have a tiny noise when nothing is playing, but I do not mind since it does not effect the sound.

Hey Olivander12! Thank you for your quick reply. Well I also thought about that. I´m just concerned when i´ll record what i´ve produced into a software track if I´ll have to listen to this background noise. I hope not otherwise I´ll have to remove from the recorded loop in the software those parts which don´t have sound...

The noise dramatically lowers if your output level is low as well as the tube gain. So if you do the volume on your pc, everything should be fine.
