Set List Sequence/Karma Glitch

Post by danmusician »

Hey folks,

I posted about a similar problem earlier. This glitch reminds of the problem I had then.

Unfortunately, it happened while leading worship this morning.

In Set List, I have a sequence followed a COMBI. After playing the sequence, I switched to the COMBI with an active KARMA pattern. When I started playing, the KARMA pattern spazzed out. It was like it was playing at two different tempi or something. I stopped the KARMA pattern, quickly switched to COMBI MODE and it played fine.

I thought perhaps it happened because I might have switched to the COMBI before the sequence stopped playing. (The sequence has several empty measures at the end for me to play out of the track.) But I tried several times after the service and could not repeat the glitch.

I've been practicing this set list in order since Thursday to prepare for today's service. Never had the glitch once. Figures it showed up in front of the congregation.

Really hoping the OS update address these kind of issues... :?

Oh, yeah, it was obvious!

All I could do was laugh it off and go with it. I'm sure it bothered me more than anyone else. I was flustered enough that I muffed the intro after I switched to COMBI mode.

It was a medley of hymn choruses. They responded well to it after I got it moving. :o

I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like you had a very sophisticated and skillful set going. They were probably really impressed by the variety of sounds and changing dimensions you had going. From what you described, I am sorry I missed the service. :)

I bravely (foolishly?!?) used the same set list and song order this evening. The COMBI played the correct rhythms and tempo this time, no issues. :)

It's still a little unsettling, not being 100% certain it will behave. I did have the issue in rehearsal the other night with a different Combi. Can't figure out what might be triggering the glitch...
