Additive Synthesis with RADIAS

Post by CharlesFerraro »

I was reading this article on additive synthesis:
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jun00/a ... nthsec.htm

And made this patch:
http://www.file-upload.net/download-379 ... s.rdp.html

Sound demonstration:
http://soundcloud.com/wolf-ray/additive-bass

All sines, no filter. Used the tube pre for more harmonics.

That patch may be useful if you want the first nine tones of the harmonic series. You'll just have to turn all oscillators down and reset the envelopes.

Gets real interesting towards the end when he suggests to change the attack of the envelopes to create additive only sounds. Add ring mod and whatever else he suggests too. Post whatever you come up with!
