Hi all.
Just a quick note to say that I recently helped a friend who needed two Solid State Drives installed into two Pa3X 61key keyboards.
He picked up two Mounting Kits from KORG. The kit contains a bracket, a few screws and a small electronic board.
The SSD I told my friend to buy were all SATA Type 1 drives. This keeps the cost down as there are absolutely no benefits in installing anything faster than that inside the Pa3X.
Installation is dead easy. Just remove the bottom panel, and remove the USB Memory stick from inside the keyboard.
Connect the circuit board from the Mounting Kit to the SSD and screw the bracket to the SSD. Now mount the backed and SSD into the pa3X while connecting the cable.
I have a photo of the SSD mounted and I will post.

Guys, a stupid question ( as i do net yet own my PA3X) :
You are talking about a USB Stick inside to be removed, i assume this is the 4GB one the manual is referring as memory to (in the 61 key version).
But, why dont replace the 4GB USB Stick with a larger one instead of a SSD ( and buying the mounting kit) ???? Or is this not possible ?

Hi taletdk,
Thanks for the info on this post. A couple of quick questions for you:
1 - You mentioned "install from beginning and that is it". Are you referring to the reinstall of the OS and Factory Resources after the new USB stick? Not sure if you had to reformat it or just the OS update and Factory Resouces is required.
2 - Are there any special USB sticks that are required or any USB 2.0 compliant will do? I am almost sure that the USB stick has got to be the one that does not have the built in security but better to confirm.
Sharp - Thanks for your original post.
