tempo midi synchro

Post by apocalypso »

i Have problem to synchronize the tempo!

master tempo: electribe[midi out]-->[in]Kaossilator[out]-->[in]KP3

electribe: all drums: channel [10] & keyboard part: [1] & [2]
Kaossilator Pro: Global Channel [3]
KP3: Global Channel [4]

Both Kaoss have midi clock set to external [EXT]
the Kaossilator Pro is ok but the KP3 do not follow,

if i plug the KP3 directly to the midi out of the electribe it works...

How do i set up this little chain? having the electribe as a master for both Kaoss.

Thanks

I believe you need to use midi thru (possibly on the electribe).
This would mean a set up something like :
Kaosillator midi out - Electribe midi thru - KP3 midi in
This set up would mean that the Kaossilator is the master sync machine.
I do stand to be corrected as I am not a midi expert :-)

The problem is that the Kaossilator is acting as a master tempo while the songs and pattern are created & saved with a specific tempo on the esx.

i will try it for now, but it is not the ideal solution...
thanks.

a midi thru is what you need.

get a 1 - 4 then youll have some ports spare.

So using an electribe as the master clock in combination with more than one Kaoss unit does not work? That is pretty bad, is there no way to get around this issue without additional hardware?
