No Kronos credit for ex-Oasys owners..
I sold my Oasys a few weeks ago to buy the Kronos. That means I am no longer registered as an Oasys owner on Korg Usernet. Which means I'm NOT entitled to the Kronos credit system.
I find it absolutely despicable and cynical on Korgs side.
I paid for all the Oasys expansions as they were released, and now I am punished and no longer recognized as a loyal customer.
Thank you Korg.

I'm curious how Korg knows you no longer own the Oasys. I'm preparing to sell my M3. I wouldn't have thought to un-register it.curvebender wrote:I sold my Oasys a few weeks ago to buy the Kronos. I'm assuming that you got more money selling the board than the credit. Would you have kept the Oasys if you knew the credit was coming or that you would lose the credit because you sold it?
Presumably the new owner registered the board and is getting the credit. In that case, I would assume that would help the resale value of the Oasys. That doesn't help your situation but may benefit people looking to sell.

I had to un-register it, so that the new owner could register it in his name.danmusician wrote:I'm curious how Korg knows you no longer own the Oasys. I'm preparing to sell my M3. I wouldn't have thought to un-register it.

Again, out of curiosity, is there an advantage to registering a used instrument? I assume the warranty has expired.curvebender wrote:I had to un-register it, so that the new owner could register it in his name.danmusician wrote:I'm curious how Korg knows you no longer own the Oasys. Yes, the warranty has expired, but if you ever needed to re-format your Oasys, I think you would need authorization codes which are available on your account.danmusician wrote:Again, out of curiosity, is there an advantage to registering a used instrument? Curve,
i understand you, because i bought a new oasys when it came out, i bought all the expansions, then i sold my oasys, i bought korg legacy software and now i bought a kronos, and it's the new owner of my oasys who did not bought it new and all the EXP that will benefit of the credit. of course it's annoying, but i think korg can not handle it another way they are, it's anyway a good gesture of them.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea. Sorry for how it worked out for you.curvebender wrote:Yes, the warranty has expired, but if you ever needed to re-format your Oasys, I think you would need authorization codes which are available on your account.danmusician wrote:Again, out of curiosity, is there an advantage to registering a used instrument? Am I correct that reformatting the Kronos would not require such codes?

Yes I would never buy an Oasys without proper access to www.korguser.net and those 4 CD's to upgrade 1.1

Sorry, but how is this "unfair" exactly?curvebender wrote:I had to un-register it, so that the new owner could register it in his name.danmusician wrote:I'm curious how Korg knows you no longer own the Oasys. I'm preparing to sell my M3. I wouldn't have thought to un-register it.
You sold your Oasys, you're no longer a member of the best synthesizer club in the world, because you sold out.
Therefore of course you're not entitled for any credit.
When you bought the expansions (as did I and many others) after purchase, didn't you use them? Or did you use them?
If you used them, well, then you got what you paid for....a product that you used.
.....Still waiting for the allusive, missing EXf for Oasys.....
In other words, you abandoned your Oasys.
You left a sinking ship and let everyone else stay on the ship to die a horrible death, while you were paddling away on your life raft.
Now Korg, is offering the rest of the people on the ship a lifevest....and wait....you feel cheated, because you don't have this lifevest.

Hed> i'm almost agree with you. Sa long as you sell a product, you loos the possible futures benefits of it. As an ex owner of a ful equipped oasys, i understand that it's the new owner, the guy who i sold my oasys, that will benefit of the credits, Becaus i have been honest ! I transfer the ownership on korg user. As i said above i would have been difficult for korg to handle this another way, but i must say that i take like a message: if i sell kronos for kronos 2 should i be honest and transfer the ownership, or shouldn't i keep the virtual ownership on korguser, in case of.........

Oh... I wasn't aware that you had to still own the OASYS to be privy to the credit. Definitely good to know this, before making any plans. In other words, don't sell your OASYS, until after!curvebender wrote:I sold my Oasys a few weeks ago to buy the Kronos. That means I am no longer registered as an Oasys owner on Korg Usernet. Once again, it's the second mouse who gets the cheese!

Thats not the best bit....
he(Curvebender) even had the cheek to PM me to ask for my promo codes because I stated that I don't want to take advantage of this offer from Korg because I have no plans to buy a K....

Irrespective of me wanting the rebate or not,I too paid for an Oasys, yet still have mine so have earnt that rebate whether I choose to take advantage of it or not is my Business.....you gave up that right when you sold it to someone elseHello Kontrol 49,
If you're not planning on taking advantage of the Kronos rebate, feel free to pass the coupon codes to me!
As you can see, I'm screwed:

Keep cool,

Perhaps You'll think twice about ditching something then expecting everyone else to give you a free meal ticket and then complaining when the sweets are handed out, after youve left the table!
I'm a generous guy towards people I think deserve something, but freeloaders like this just simply piss me off, like they think the world owes them a living
