Yes, that's exactly what will happen.
No Korg arrangers are backward compatible.
You should only load data files approved by Korg as per the User Manual "Media Edit Mode >> Load" section (page 253) and NEVER load GLOBAL data from any other keyboard.
You need to perform a complete reset of your PA2X - see:-

Are you powering on with the USB drive inserted (containing the OS file) whilst holding the INTRO 1 button down???
See the OS installation instructions for details.

Now you know why Korg has posted this for you:
Note: Do not try to load this Operative System in instruments other than Pa3X!

What I just don't get is this: why not make this process (loading OS's, performances and so on) better 'dummy-proof'?
It looks so simple to me: IF OS-version = 2.x" AND instrument = PA2X, then LOAD else DON'T LOAD (and give a proper explanation why not).
I'm not a programmer, so forgive my questionable syntaxis, but I hope you know what I mean.
In 2011, this must be possible.

I know exactly what you mean Frans, and that's a great idea. All it needs is for whenever an insturment is presented with an OS that's not designed for it, the first thing that should appear on the screen is something like: "Incompatible Software - Cannot Be Loaded", and no damage is done. I've got little idea how these things work, but that should be a piece of cake for anyone with any programming knowledge.
