Hi folks . I am back again still loving every minute with my trusty old PA1X I have stumbled on what might be a limitation for me but i thought i would run this by your goodselves first before i reach a conclusion .
I do a lot of style creation for myself and for use with the various choirs i work with. But i have a problem .
when recording in style record e ( that is actually creating a style) I sometimes would like to change the volumes of lets say strings or an organ part in real time as i record to reflect when the music should swell or when i want the organ to come up in the mix like a live organist or orchestra might.
Imn a real band the instrumenst would not stay at the same level throughout the music.
Also i am trying to be more creative so that i can 'insert' different effects on the instruments within a style rather than have the same effect going continuusly throughout the style. For example i might want a distortion effect on the first style variation and a fanger sound on the rythm guitar in the next variation. Can this be programmed within the style or can different effects be applied to different style variations.
I know i am asking quite deep questions but t would be really appreciate if anyone can provide an answer or a useable workaround.
Cheers
Worth

Hi Worth - nice to hear from you.
I would be inclined to make a midi file instead of a style. This way it would be easy to do everything you want. If you are worried about live performing and wanting to go back to say a chorus or verse you could insert markers in the midi to reset the position if needed.
So you could start with a basic midi using quick record with the inbuilt styles and record the whole song and save it. Then open the file in full Multitrack Record so you have 16 tracks available and begin to edit and add to your song. You could have the same instrument in two different tracks (1 with say flanger fx and the other with chorus).
I love editing capabilities of the old Pa1x. If I make a mistake in record I usually just edit the note later (Menu, Edit Event).
Blessings,
John

Thanks John but i dont think that will help me this time. I like playing in arranger style becuase i can change key and create interesting chord variations by programming up to 3 CV's in every style . It kind of makes the music sound live instead of the simple repetitive pattern and yet allows me the flexibility to improvise .
Thre must be a way to achieve waht i am after withion a style as the gospel styles have those changes in volume .
Thanks for responding though !
