About M50 and stuff. HELP for decide!

Hello, i m closely to buy an m50. I want to know if this keyboard have the things that i really need.

bassicaly, i need a second kerboard on stage to act as a synth for leads strings and other sounds (experimental sounds too). I want too the sequencer, loops.

I never have a workstation.

I investigate and read and its very probably that i buy the m50. The Juno Gi in my country (Argentina) is 600 USS more and dont have the software editor for the sounds.

I have 2 final questions.

- The leads are good but are not the sound i am searching, with the editor can i aproximate to the kind of sounds i want? (This is, leads 70 and 80. like Keith Emerson of ELP)

- The m50 reads audio file trought the sd? and if it reads it, i can loop it, or just work with midi? If i sample in Live for example and make a loop with a sound i create, can i do that loop on the m50, without conecting it to a notebook?

Well, my idea is get the Nord Waves, but for the price, i am about to start with the m50, to use as a workstation and a secondary keyboard in stage. I use a dgx 635 as a piano stage but now i want synths sounds for solos and to complement the piano.

You can edit any of the M50 sounds... change waveforms, adjust the filter, envelopes, etc.

No, you cannot load audio files into the M50.

The M50 should keep you covered for the most part, although it does lack sampling. If you need sampling, see if you can find a used Yamaha Motif ES or Korg Triton Extreme.

Don't even touch the Juno-G. It's junk.

so, the m50 under no circumstances can reproduces sounds (in any format) apart of the sounds that come with it (editied or not, and new .pcg for it). am i correct?

but with the editor i can reach a variety of sounds for drums and percus to make loops not? i m talking about "synth toms", hope u understand what kind of sound i m talink...

and the last... what about the switching sounds on live? i read that for some people is hard and the sounds cuts off and have a very little delay from to sound to sound.

Since the OP is talking about loading samples from a computer (and not using the keyboard itself for sampling), as I understand it, he could even use a Korg TR if he puts a couple of cheap memory modules into it. Unlike the M50, the TR also has aftertouch, which is very nice when using synth sounds.

Correct. You can't load samples... but you can edit the existing sounds and/or load new sounds (PCG files only).

You don't need a software editor. All parameters (for drums and other samples) can be edited and saved using the M50 by itself.

Yes, there is a momentary delay when you change from one sound to the next. That's normal with most keyboards.

It can be circumvented in different, but not very live-friendly, ways.

For instance you'll notice that when you have selected a Combi and play a staying chord (organ or similar) you can switch to another Program in the Combi and the chord will continue sounding with the previous Program.

Hence it can be done without dropped notes or annoying delays, but again not in a very live-friendly way, and you need to work on the effects and effects routing, so that the Programs sound the way you want.
