padkontrol mapping issue with traktor pro 2

Post by sparsh319 »

hi all - a friend of mine just passed on his padkontrol to me and i've been trying to map it to traktor pro 2 for a while but im having some major issues.

firstly - i cant setup a modifier. i followed the guide available on the site but still cant get it to work. ive tried the button programs as momentary and toggle but neither do the job.

i basically want a modifier to delete hot cues - otherwise i'll have to use a scene to just delete hot cue which would suck!

the second issue is with LEDS, no matter what i do i cant map those either! ive looked over the guide on the site as a reference and im following it to the letter but still nothing! all the lights are just on permanently and go off when i press the pad buttons. it was the opposite when the pad was set up in "note" mode rather than "cc" which his how i currently have it set up.

im on a windows based machine so farmpad is not an option unfortunately. any ideas are appreciate - i'll be more than happy to share my mapping once its complete. i'll have a few scenes for performance like hot cue, controlling sample decks and a few scenes for prep like setting up beatgrids and so on.

I have to say, it sounds more like a Traktor issue, and you might get better help from a forum dedicated to that product.

If the PadKontrol is set up to send CCs, and the CCs are getting into your computer, then there's not much more to it as far as the PK is concerned.

You can't use the LED's, on the 16 pads and the two assignable knobs and the X/Y section can be used in midi mode.

To get a delete cue functionality do this:

Add In > Modifier > Modifier 1#
-Device mapping: Learn, chosen a button
-Type of controller: Button
-Interaction mode: Hold
-Button options: Set to Value 1

Add In > Cue/Loops > Select/Set+Store Hotcue
-Device mapping: Learn, chosen a different button
-Mapping details: Modifer set to M1 value set to 0
-Type of controller: Button
-Interaction mode: Hold
-Button options: Hotcue 1

Add In > Cue/Loops > Delete Hotcue
-Device mapping: Learn, chose the same one as in Select/Set+Store Hotcue
-Mapping details: Modifer set to M1 value set to 1
-Type of controller: Button
-Interaction mode: Direct
-Button options: Hotcue 1

Now you have a shift button and hotcue button, pressing the hotcue button will set a hotcue and holding shift while pressing that hotcue button will delete it.
