Is there an un-do trick in sequencer mode?

Hello everyone...here is my problem.

Let's say that i lay down a simple drum track on track 1 in the m50 sequencer...kick, snare, etc... I then switch to overdub mode to record in real time aditional goodies such as snare rolls, toms, etc...but in the process, i screw up and want to un do my mistake. How do i do that?

Until now i have had to erase the entire track and start over.

While i'm at it, i just remembered about another thing that puzzles me a bit.

What is the difference between Delete Measure and Erase Measure? sometimes i want to erase a measure and it works and sometimes i want to erase a measure and it does not work. If i record in loop funcion, could that be the reason?

For example..i might start out a song with a bass line and drums.. then i decide i want to erase the drum parts from measure 1 to 4...and when i erase...it erases the 1 to 4 measures...but also erases past measure 4!The bass line stays the same since i did not select that track. But the drums disappear completly! Other times i will do something similar and it will function properly..erase what i want.

Any advice will be apprecieated.... thank you

Press the compare button once. That will undo your last recording.

What is the difference between Delete Measure and Erase Measure?

Say you have a sequence 10 measures long.

If you delete measure 4, then your song will be now a seamless 9 measure long.

If you erase measure 4, then your song will be still 10 measures long, but measure 4 will produce no sound. It will be empty of notes.

why don`t you use the compare button?

When I use overdub mode I always save the song previously, because you can undo with the compare button, but if you forget to do so, you have a problem, and you have to erase manually, which is difficult sometimes.

yes i think the undo function sucks. should undo and redo mor steps than one

thanks everyone for taking the time to answer my question. i finally figured it out. if you use the loop funcion and want to erase meaures, it will not let you.

you have to record patterns and then it will let you erase.
