Fixing R3's keyboard

Post by manjeroque »

Hello there!
now i'm a happy R3 user, i like it very much - great synth for the price!
got it used (i changed some gear for it) and noticed that one white key (first E) looks shorter, it's ok and as long as others, but i guess it was screwed too deep, so it looks 1mm shorter.
and i'm thinking of opening the R3 and fixing this key (by the way, i like it's action!)

will it be too hard or dangerous to open the R3 and fix it myself? (i can disassemble and assemble PC easily and some other pieces of electronics)

Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to all Korg users!!!

edit: oh, i disassembled the R3 and found that it is impossible to fix - it requires to change the whole octave block of keys... just a little issue with a key, never mind :)

I ordered one of the block of keys from korgparts.com to fix a broken key and never ended up using it. I ended up superglueing the key and fixed it. Plays perfectly. I believe you can order it fairly cheaply. Heck, maybe I'll sell you my set that I never used if your interested, lol.

Thank You for your offer, but i don't think it worths the complication with the international shipping for you
